LEADERS IN TECH CAREERS

Head of Growth & Community |
Tech Ecosystem

Full Time | Bay Area

LIT runs transformative leadership programs modeled after the legendary Interpersonal Dynamics (“Touchy Feely”) course at the Stanford GSB - the most popular course for over 30 years.  With 150+ participants per year, a 80%+ NPS, and an alumni community of nearly 1,000 tech founders representing companies now valued at over $50B, LIT has built something rare: a program that is both popular and impactful.  Now we're ready to grow it. This role exists to take LIT from 150 to 500+ participants over the next 3–5 years.

‍

The Role

You will be the primary driver of program growth for Founder Fellows & Executive Fellows - our two core offerings for tech leaders – building the nominator community, activating alumni, expanding LIT's presence in the Bay Area and East Coast startup ecosystem, and experimenting with new growth strategies. You own the pipeline from first contact through application, and collaborate closely with the Director of Admissions from there. This is a relationship-first role. You should already know a lot of people in the founder, VC, and tech ecosystem – and be genuinely excited to know more.

This role will be supported by an outreach operations manager and shared admin support.

‍

Your Priorities, In Order

1. Program growth – nominations, applicants, and enrolled participants across both Founder Fellows and Executive Fellows

2. Alumni engagement – keeping the community active, connected, and advocating for LIT

3. Fundraising & sponsorships – cultivating relationships that generate long term financial support

‍

What You Own

Nominator Engagement – Over 400 VCs and angel investors nominate founders for our programs. Own the full nominator lifecycle: identifying, onboarding, activating, and re-engaging nominators. Build programs that make nominators feel connected to our mission and organization. Track results from our campaigns and strategies.

Alumni Engagement – Over half of our nominations each year come from past program alumni.  Support and build the Fellows alumni community. Design the post-program journey, create cross-cohort connection, run events (Happy Hours, dinners, Alumni Day 2027), and mobilize alumni as nominators and community advocates.  Make our alumni happy and connected to LIT and each other.  Track results in the form of active alumni nominators, alumni event attendance, surveys and fundraising.

Nominee Outreach – Own the full nominee lifecycle: sending campaigns to nominees, running experiments and testing new methods to convert nominees to apply to our programs. This includes direct, high-touch relationship management with nominees, including personal conversations. Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to inform participant selection.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Presence – Build and manage strategic partnerships that expand the Founder & Executive Fellowships pipeline. Represent LIT at founder and VC events with genuine presence. Experiment with new growth strategies and document what works.

Fundraising Support – In collaboration with leadership, develop a sponsorships program and activate alumni and nominator relationships in support of LIT.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Genuinely embedded in the Bay Area startup, founder, or VC ecosystem – you know people, you're known, and you enjoy it
  • A natural relationship-builder who follows up, stays in touch, and makes people feel like they matter
  • Comfortable with data – you use metrics to decide where to focus, not just to report on what happened
  • You build systems and move quickly to get a lot done without a big team
  • Experience building a community, partnership program, or referral network with real outcomes
  • Energized by building from scratch in a resource-constrained environment
  • You care deeply about LIT’s impact and work in the world

Strong Plus

  • Fundraising, sponsorship, or donor cultivation experience
  • East Coast network
  • Familiarity with T-Group or executive leadership development

Probably Not the Right Fit If

  • You need a defined playbook to thrive
  • You don’t have existing relationships, credibility or comfort with the tech founder and investor ecosystem
  • You haven't experienced transformative leadership development and don't feel called to it
